George R. Schoeder, age 92, died July 22, 2010 at a Hillsboro assisted living residence where he was living.
He was born June 16, 1918 in Preston, Iowa, and lived in California for much of his life. George moved to the Portland, Oregon area about 20 years ago.
He was a graduate of Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa and received his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
He married Genevieve Fuller and the couple was married almost 70 years when he died. They had two children, a daughter, Sharon, who preceded him in death in 2010, and a son, George R. "Bob" Schroeder.
During World War II, George was a pilot in the Army Air Corps. Following the war, he began a career with Douglas Aircraft Company in California, working as a Project Manager in the aircraft, space and missile industry.
At his request, no service will be held and his cremated remains will be interred at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
